Hell no. It has nothing to do with loss of excess fat. It has to do with loss of excess water weight.





You can simply fluctuate between 12 to 18 pounds of water weight on a daily basis. This is why the scale is not recommended by me when getting an accurate reading on your body mass index.





BMI, tells you your fat, to lean muscle and bone ratio and since water weight is lost easily with scams, people think they lost fat when they really lost water weight.





Cleansing does have its benefits, like releaving your liver and starting over again as to how you feed yourself, but that's about it.

LMAO. Yes, very predictable and accurate resulys. Zero.





Reduced calories, nutrient dense foods eaten 6 times per day and progressive resistance training (weighltlifting) is the ONLY way to lose fat. There is no other way around it. What you mentioned are complete gimmicks and frauds. Sorry.

best detoxification regimen you can ever have is sugar free cranberry juice. drink 1-2 jugs a day for 1 month. and you wont believe how amazing you will feel! my boyfriend was having issues with kidney stones for a few years in a row. he drank 2 jugs a day for 1 month, his kidneys never hurt him again, hes never had kidney stones since, it completely flushed his system and he had alot of energy and felt amazing! cranberry juice is amazing. you will start to notice major changes after about 1 week, and your kidneys will love you! plus cranberry juice has great benefits for your heart and other organs. good luck to you!Self-Cleansing and Detoxification?
The normally functioning body does this pretty well on its own. If you insist, you should understand that you're looking for a good placebo effect, so it should be as disgusting and inconvenient as possible.

Colon cleansing and detoxification....?

I'm fourteen and have a digestive track problem. I get constipated easily and can't hold my pee for no longer than 10 seconds and often wet my pants. I was thinking this might have to do with my colon and body. My dad got me so laxatives to help me with my constipation. What are some tips and foods I can eat that would help me? Besides plenty of fiber you also need plenty of roughage and you can get that from plenty of fruit and vegetables.





Plenty of water in between meals also helps and plenty of exercise also helps.





Liquid chlorophyll is good for cleansing and detoxing and both liquid chlorophyll and pineapple every day will help to promote a healthy digestive environment.
i had the same problem with constipation --fiber not relieving it....





magnesium citrate is a pleasant lemon tasting drink. drink a glass of warm water after you drink the mag/citrate. they actually give this in hospitals when patients have had surgery (esp. abdominal) and need to have a bowel movement. because it is very effective yet, does not cause cramping or discomfort. you can get it in bottles from wal-mart or anywhere for about a dollar each. i drink half a bottle a day and it is not harmful to do so. you can adjust it to your body's needs.





also, consider taking a magnesium supplement that has a high level of absorbtion. leave the laxatives alone because they cause dependency and that just makes a worse problem. your body needs magnesium so taking it will benefit you in many ways.





i don't know what to suggest for the incontinence.... that's not colon related.





you should still see a doctor as chronic constipation can be a sign of a more serious problem. in the meantime eat dark green leafy vegetables, beans, apples, pears, bananas, and soy products. also, make sure you are exercising at least 15 - 30 minutes daily to keep your intestines moving properly.

Yes, I have many times and it always feels good.

I would't bother with the detox things as they are shown to have nothing more than what you would get in mulitvitamins....besides your body has excellent detoxing organs eg the liver, kidneys and unless you have chronic problems with them they know what to take out of your body.

    Yes cleansing works, but only if its a very high quality cleans. I can only trust cleanses that were developed by practicing doctors that perfected the cleanses on patients to heal from diseases. Most are developed in a lab and made with very poor quality ingredients, so I can see why most people would think that they don't work.





    The only reason why most diseases have doubled and will triple in industrialized countries is because of the extremely massive amount of chemicals that were developed and put into use in this last century and in this century. There are 85,000 chemicals in use today, only 10% have been tested for human health safety. People are taking in hundreds of chemicals everyday from the air, water, pesticide smothered food, soap, cleaning products, make-up, the more chemicals the more disease.     The colon cleanse will clean out parasites, mucus, and toxic waste.





    It is a good healthy thing to do for yourself.
    Not only is detoxification false, you can also cause some serious health issues.





    If you think about your body and what it does, you will soon realize that your body detoxes every day, it works 24/7.





    Just by drinking more water, you will detox safely and will not end up with serious infections like yeast infections of the bowel (extremely painful) and in some cases you will cause bilary duct stones to lodge (often called liver stones which there is NO such thing)- which is not only painful and dangerous and then sometimes a gallstone will cause one to have emergency surgery.





    many say they feel better after a cleanse, but the truth be knownst, your going to feel real bad by not eating. and worse when your only ingesting lemon and olive oil. what comes out of the intestine is lemon coated balls of olive oil.


    some say they have had the stones analyzed which is fine, however, the stones one is wished to flush should be of calcified nature and will not be able to be sliced clean without severe crumbling.





    the above post is correct, it is merely a placebo effect with possible dangerous outcomes. if you wish to cleanse, it is is safe to do an enema once or twice a year.

    The bottom line? It's a waste of time and money. It won't prevent colon cancer - or any other diseases for that matter. In fact, colon cleansing may even hurt you.





    There are two main types of colon cleansing. The first type is a powdered or liquid supplement. The other type is colonic irrigation or colonic hydrotherapy, which involves inserting a rubber tube into the rectum and flushing it with water.





    Holistic practitioners believe the colon is a sewage system and if it's not kept clean, waste products won't be cleared out and toxic substances will be absorbed into the body.     fiction; the body has its own natural detoxification system; liver, kidneys etc. detox, waste of money. keep up with your lifestyle, its something i wish i had the staying power to do, and I'm half your age!
    Your lifestyle is good. I have herd natural doctors say you don't need cleanse. I have herd many say you do.


    They say John Wayne died with over 40 lbs of build up in his colon. Like old pipes they buid up with age then you can't digest food efeciantly.


    I personally believe it doesn't hurt to detox once a year. I have a book that has a colon clense that I think is as good as any. Drink distilled drinking water (Several glasses a day)


    Drink one glass of Apple Cider (prefered organic) each day Then every couple of days add some lemon juice to your drinking water. Dont eat or drink anything else for 4 or 5 days.


    This will clense stones, toxins that do build up, and fecal matter from colon. Supprising I dont get hungry during this.

    Definably true - although the detox patches aren't. Eat more raw foods and your body will do the rest.

    Let me make a suggestion...


    Cleansing is great, and vital to your health, but you need to do it correctly. The purpose of a cleanse (especially if you are fighting a degenerative or chronic disease) is to detox your body AND give your body the nutrients it needs to regenerate clean, healthy cells.





    Most cleanses -- like the master cleanse -- do detox your body, but do nothing for restoring balance to your system. For example, your body is building about 1 billion new cells each day. If you cleanse without flooding your body with super-absorbable nutrients, your body has to create new cells out of whatever is left over in your system after you cleanse-- which is usually mineral, vitamin, protein and fat deficient.





    Instead, I would do a nutritional cleanse. These cleanses flush your entire system (colon included) of all the junk, while simultaneously flooding your cells with super nutrition. This way, when your body starts building new cells -- they are made out of the best ';parts'; available.

    No it doesn't. Your bodies internal organs remove toxins better than any funky diet.





    Eat plenty of vegetables, fruits, lean meats and dairy, A moderate amount of whole grains. Limit junk and processed foods.





    Find some king of exercise you enjoy and can commit to. It can be anything, as long as you can do it regularly and work hard at it.





    And of course you know this, but quitting smoking will improve your health the more than anything else. Drinking in moderation isn't bad though.Body cleansing and detoxification?
    Dont know much about this subject. However, in response to Taylor, i have been researching acai a fair bit recently. Also named 'aqai', it can be in the form of berries, juice, pulp, extracts etc. It is found in some drinks, arguably weird ones, such as smoothies, juice blends, energy drinks. At least they are weird and wacky ones to me...


    From memory, acai is a fruit from a plant. It contains theobromine, and I dont think this is just in trace amounts - research the tinternet yourself for confirmation of that. Theobromine is very similar to caffeine, being another xanthine and having similar effects, and attacking the same receptors, i think. So just be warned - you might not want to get addicted to or form an attachment to another drug now do you?


    Sorry i'm a bit sketchy on all this... I've been researching several things with caffeine and caffeine-like things in them recently; its 10.00 wednesday morning and i haven't slept yet from last night!
