Should you actually cleanse your skin twice, right after each other?

I heard someone say this, with these two reasons:

The first time removes all of the oil, dirt and possibly makeup, whereas the second time actually cleanses the skin...

So i was wondering if this is actually true, or if can harm your skin by (possibly) drying it out too much.Should you actually cleanse your skin twice, right after each other?
once is enough, unless you cake yourself in makeup in which case your skin will be screwed either way.Should you actually cleanse your skin twice, right after each other?
When you remove all of the oil, dirt, and makeup, you are cleansing the skin.

However, if your cleanser is not removing all of your makeup, you should use a makeup remover prior to cleansing. But in general, no, you should not cleanse twice.
No! It can definitely dry out your skin as well as activate your sebum cells to produce more oil, which can ultimately cause breakouts! Once is more than enough, otherwise dry skin can look unhealthy and fell uncomfortable as well!

Good luck!
