When you first start cleansing etc does it make your skin worse before it gets better?

i used to cleanse, tone and moisturise my skin every day but i eventually stopped coz i didnt really see any difference. now i've started again using new products and my face has just broken out with spots quite badly. i'm not sure if its just because i've started cleansing etc again or if its a sign i'm using the wrong products. i bought products for combination skin because i have dry and oily patches on my face. should i persevere with this 1 or try a different brand? i use oil free foundation so i'm assuming its not thatWhen you first start cleansing etc does it make your skin worse before it gets better?

I would try something other that what you are currently using. Normally red spots are a red flag. I know that I have used certain brands that don't agree with my skin even though they were for my skin type. If the foundation has always worked for you it shouldn't be that, I would bet money on it being the new products your using for cleansing.
If it doesn't work or make things better then you must use Ph balanced products. It should have a Ph of 5.5 if it does not say so on the packet or label then don't use it.

All of that oil that evacuates your pores (blackheads, enlarged pores, etc.) has to go somewhere!
try not to use too many medicated cleansers.....


stick to one or two things....
I used clinique products which are unfragranced and dont irritate skin. If you get them from boots you have a 30 day guarentee so try something, even if it works take it back, then buy the product somewhere cheaper like ebay!!! ;)
